SUPPORTING WOMEN WORKING IN MEDIA
It is a public organization that advocates for gender equality on two levels – equal attitude, opportunities and access to jobs within the media and equality in media content, focused in particular on the fight against sexism as well as providing leadership and necessary resources to protect women’s rights and opportunities in all aspects of life.
About
NGO «Women in the media»
Initially the «Media Women» was started as a Facebook group which united more than 1000 female journalists, editors and producers.
Main areas of «Media Women» activity are:
- development of the community of journalists and women in the media;
- provision of psychological, expert, financial and organizational support;
- advocacy for equal rights and opportunities for women in the media, overcoming discrimination, conducting gender media research;
- training for journalists and editors on issues of ethics and standards, affirming gender equality.
